✪ Biography ✪
London-based photojournalist Alex Gerry started building his portfolio in the late ’80s, reporting the capital’s nightlife & music events at The Evening Standard, as well as editing Metropolitan Magazine’s weekly music & nightlife sections.
He kept a prolific profile during the ’90s, spending six fruitful years as writer & photographer @ DJ Magazine, while also editing the club & music sections of Night Out in London, After Dark, Fresh Direction, City Limits, Thud & Boyz Magazines. He also acted as UK editor @ Julie Jewels & Michael Alig’s Project X Magazine in NYC. Other notable regular contributions (past & present) include i-D, Mojo Magazine, Record Collector Mag, UK Club Guide, Girl About Town, Ms London, Dazed, 125 Magazine, QX and Palladium, to name but a few UK titles; also DIF (Portugal), Les Inrocks, VSD & Technikart (France), Prinz (Germany), Interview & Gazelland (USA). He’s edited the club, bar & restaurant sections of Eurostar’s widely distributed New London Magazine since its 2008 launch.
